Resilience in Silence
Gwen Anderson
Encaustic mixed media on panel
Inspired by photo #1
6 x 12 x .8 inches
The image of human skeletal muscle under a microscope has inspired this mixed media encaustic painting. With ALS, neurons deteriorate, disrupting communication to muscles, causing weakness and atrophy. My brother-in-law passed away from ALS in 2004. This image serves as a reminder of the disease's impact on the body. It invites a deeper understanding and awareness of ALS and its symptoms.
