In Every Beautiful Thing
Susan Sarver
Encaustic, pencil & watercolor on panel
Inspired by photo #18 x 8 x 1.5 inches
During my years of working as a registered nurse, I often cared for patients with limited treatment options. My ongoing hope was for research to move forward more swiftly. I am pleased to participate in this event to support ALS research.
I was inspired by the shapes and colors in Image #1 to create In Every Beautiful Thing. While the image shows damaged muscle cells seen in ALS that impair movement, I incorporated loose marks in the painting to represent the enduring power, energy, and beauty of the human spirit.
